What is Hospice Care

Hospice is a benefit that focuses on the quality of life for a patient with a life-limited illness of six months or less.

It is a concept and philosophy of care that is palliative and not curative.

Support is provided through a team of professionals that emphasize on pain and symptom management while maintaining patient dignity and well-being.

Hospice services are available 24 hours a day and provided by an interdisciplinary team.

The goal is to improve the quality of an individual’s life through pain and symptom management while providing emotional, physical, psychological and spiritual support.

We believe that the patient and family are integral decision making members of the Hospice team in planning and receiving care.

Hospice offers and alternative to repeat hospitalizations.

Hospice affirms life and regards dying as a normal process at life’s end in which we can provide dignity and comfort for the patient and loved ones.
